BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced it has acquired a retail property/casualty agency and employee benefits consultant in Ohio and an Iowa-based retail property/casualty brokerage in separate deals.

Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Gallagher said Tuesday it has acquired Cincinnati-based W.P. Dolle LLC. Founded in 1872, W.P. Dolle focuses on manufacturing and distribution clients in the greater Cincinnati region.

W.P. Dolle President Mark Rummler, Vice President Rich Veleta and their staff will relocate to Gallagher's Cincinnati office under the leadership of Sean Gallagher, head of Gallagher's Great Lakes region retail property/casualty brokerage operations, and Tom Lannen, head of Gallagher's Great Lakes region employee benefits consulting operations.

On Monday, Gallagher said it had acquired Dubuque, Iowa-based River Valley Capital Insurance Inc.

River Valley, founded in 2007, specializes in trucking industry coverage, with a focus on long-haul trucking companies in the Midwest.

River Valley employees will remain based in their offices under Ryan Isaacs, head of Gallagher's Midwest region retail property/casualty brokerage operations.

A Gallagher spokeswoman said River Valley has 20 employees, and W.P. Dolle has approximately 17.

Rolling Meadows, Illinois-based Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is the fourth-largest broker of U.S. business based on 2020 brokerage revenue generated by U.S clients, according to the most recent Business Insurance rankings.
