EC extends Aon-Willis deal review deadline until August

The European Commission has further extended the deadline for its final decision on the U.K.-based insurance broker Aon PLC’s acquisition of rival Willis Towers Watson PLC until Aug. 3, Reinsurance News reported. The EC restarted the clock on its investigation of the deal in April and is reviewing Aon’s proposed concessions package, including the divestment of WTW’s reinsurance broking arm Willis Re Ltd., to close the deal.
