BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Whole Foods and Progressive to serve a side of Thanksgiving insurance

As the pandemic calls for smaller gatherings, those unused to cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year will quickly learn the No. 1 lesson in bird roasting: The big bird is easy to screw up.

Meat by the bone, red and bloody, and undercooked at 9 p.m. Overcooked and dry by noon. Not defrosted in time. Too defrosted, left on a counter overnight and now smelling “funny.”

Knowing the challenge at hand insurer Progressive Corp. is getting together with Whole Foods Market Inc. to offer “insurance” in the form of a free $35 Whole Foods gift card to customers who “commit a turkey cooking fail.”

The idea grew out of the pandemic prompting households to host smaller gatherings. In some cases, this translates into inexperienced cooks preparing the stressful, multi-course meal, according to a statement issued by Whole Foods.

“As we anticipate more smaller Thanksgiving gatherings and first-time cooks tackling turkey preparation this year, the Thanksgiving Turkey Protection Plan allows customers the freedom of culinary exploration, knowing all is not lost should their cooking go astray,” said Theo Weening, vice president of meat and poultry at Whole Foods, in the statement.

To be eligible, customers must purchase a Whole Foods-branded turkey from the retailer between Nov. 11 and 22. If the final product winds up overcooked, undercooked, burnt or dry, failed chefs can submit a claim with a receipt, brief explanation and picture at TurkeyProtectionPlan.com.
