BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Beacon International Group Ltd., the publisher of Business Insurance, on Tuesday announced the acquisition of insurance media companies on three continents.

The acquisitions, which together with Business Insurance will account for more than a million monthly page views, are: Rubicon Media Ltd., London-based publisher of Commercial Risk Europe, Commercial Risk Africa, Commercial Risk Asia and International Programme News; INS Communications Pte. Ltd., Singapore-based publisher of Asia Insurance Review and Middle East Insurance Review; and WorkCompCentral, based in Camarillo, California, and serving the U.S. workers compensation insurance sector.

The newly acquired media complement Beacon’s award-winning Business Insurance in their respective markets, holding top regional readership among insurance, reinsurance and related risk financing, risk transfer and risk management leaders and providers, said Steve Acunto, founder and chairman of Beacon.

Beacon properties also include the 131-year-old Insurance Advocate, cable television programming and other media. The company, headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, employs more than 120 professionals including journalists and business representatives on five continents and in 18 key cities.

Combined, the group will present more than 70 events per year and offer timely and niche-focused news and useful information in multiple markets, Mr. Acunto said.

In addition, Beacon will announce programming on Discovery and other cable channels in 2021 featuring its series: Back from the Brink, currently in production through the company’s Measure Media subsidiary.

Commercial Risk was founded 10 years ago and is led by Stewart Brown, Adrian Ladbury and Hugo Foster. The publications offer news content to a loyal, responsive audience, and it has a highly prized events business, Mr. Acunto said.

Asia Insurance Review, now in its 30th year as the international market leader in Asia and led by Sivam Subramaniam and Sheela Suppiah, is the No. 1 insurance, reinsurance, risk management, risk transfer and risk financing media hub in the region.

Middle East Insurance Review is the leading English language publication serving the entire Middle East and North Africa region as a strategic information partner to those doing business there and eyeing the potential of that market, Mr. Acunto said.

WorkCompCentral offers daily updates and critical information for workers comp professionals across the United States and maintains both media and educational calendars that include events, seminars and sector intelligence, he said.

Founded by the late David DePaolo, WCC provides analytical tools, workshops and a consistent flow of information. “We plan to expand WCC’s presence and to add a strong virtual, broadcast agenda covering all aspects of the workers comp enterprise and its related fields from our California, Texas and Florida offices,” Mr. Acunto said.
