IMA hires former Marsh exec for new Houston practice

Energy brokerage IMA Financial Group Inc. on Tuesday named former Marsh LLC executive Ricky Bryan executive vice president and director of its newly opened practice in Houston.
Mr. Bryan was previously senior vice president at Marsh JLT Specialty and prior to that a director at John L. Wortham & Son, IMA said. Marsh acquired Wortham in 2018.
Mr. Bryan works with downstream and midstream energy companies, focusing on complex property placements for oil, gas and petrochemical clients, IMA said in a statement.
IMA’s expansion of its energy practice follows its acquisition of Kittanning, Pennsylvania-based ESS NexTier Insurance Group earlier this year.
“The expansions and acquisition highlight our commitment to the energy industry,” IMA President Bob Reiter said in the statement.
The Houston practice, with 12 staff, joins IMA’s 800 associates working across Colorado, Kansas, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Texas.
The IMA Financial Group Inc. is the 28th-largest brokerage of U.S. business, according to the latest Business Insurance ranking. In 2018, it reported $175.9 million in U.S. brokerage revenues.
