Sidecar vehicles help Swiss Re attract ILS capital

Christian Mumenthaler, chief executive of Swiss Re Ltd., said that collateralized reinsurance sidecar vehicles have helped the reinsurer attract fresh insurance-linked securities capital even during difficult times, Artemis reported. It has expanded its third-party reinsurance capital assets under management to nearly $2.5 billion from $1 billion a year ago.
