Marsh LLC has named former IBM Corp. executive Tamara Simpkins Franklin as chief digital, data and analytics officer, effective Oct. 1.
Ms. Franklin replaces Sastry Durvasula, who left Marsh to join McKinsey & Co as global chief technology and digital officer.
Based in New York Ms. Franklin will report to John Doyle, president and CEO of Marsh, the brokerage said in a statement Thursday.
In her new role, Ms. Franklin will design and implement digital technologies and enhance the use of data and analytics to support clients, Marsh said.
Ms. Franklin was most recently vice president of media and entertainment solutions, North America at IBM. She brings more than 25 years of experience leading digital transformations and defining strategies for large multinational organizations, including E.W. Scripps Co., Time Warner Cable and Motorola Inc., Marsh said.
“More than ever, our clients are looking to use the power of digital solutions to help them manage a rapidly changing risk and insurance landscape, especially in light of the COVID-19 global pandemic,” Mr. Doyle said in the statement.
