Help

BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Hoverboard dentist does it again

dentist

A dentist in Anchorage, Alaska, who filmed himself riding a hoverboard during a tooth-pulling procedure on a patient who was under anesthesia is in the headlines again.

Seth Lookhart was convicted of 46 counts of defrauding the federal Medicaid program after investigators found that he had been pressuring patients to needlessly undergo intravenous sedation to bill Medicaid for the service, according to the Associated Press.

The 35-year-old dentist was this week sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The state is also requesting that a judge order Dr. Lookhart to pay more than $2 million in restitution for the Medicaid fraud, according to the news report.
