BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

A well-known wealthy Tennessee family whose patriarch founded the Pilot Corp. chain of convenience stores known as Pilot Flying J announced this week that it is giving $900,000 to a local school district to purchase insurance for Chromebooks.

Knox County Schools in Knoxville, Tennessee is giving its 60,000 students the devices so that they can learn from home with the $30-per-device insurance premium as an option to protect and service the $200 tablet, which families themselves would have to replace if damaged, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported Thursday.

The Haslam family, in an effort to help low-income families protect the devices if they have to study at home because of COVID-19, gifted enough money to pay for half of the student population’s insurance, according to the article.

“Equal access to education is critical, and this includes the technology tools that help students learn,” the Haslam family said in a news release. “We want to ensure that all Knox County students feel comfortable and confident utilizing the new Chromebooks for enriched learning, and we hope that the coverage of insurance fees will allow all students to consistently utilize their Chromebooks.”
