Allianz corporate unit details executive changes

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE Monday announced additional executive appointments related to its realignment.

The insurer on July 1 disclosed a multiyear restructuring aimed at streamlining its operations and generating some €200 million ($225.19 million) in savings by 2024.

Max Nussbaumer has been named senior vice president, operations North America. He will be based in Chicago and report directly to AGCS Chief Operating Officer Bettina Dietsche, the company said in a statement.

He was previously owner of venture investor Nussbaumer Projects in Chicago.

Joe Caruso, regional head of financial institutions, will succeed Paul Schiavone as regional head of financial lines, effective Sept. 1. Mr. Caruso will continue to develop AGCS’s portfolio including cyber, directors and officers, and professional indemnity products and solutions in the U.S. and Canada, the statement said. He is based in New York and reports to William Scaldaferri, AGCS North America CEO, according to an email from a spokeswoman.

Mr. Schiavone has been promoted to the newly created role of global industry solution director for financial institutions, the statement said. Based in New York, he reports to Patrick Thiels, global head of distribution, according to the spokeswoman’s email.     

Rani Christie, previously head of sales and south and northeast zone executive, was named to the newly created role of regional head of distribution, the statement said. He is based in Alpharetta, Georgia, and reports to Mr. Scaldaferri, according to the spokeswoman’s email.
