BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. has named Amy Stepnowski to succeed Brion Johnson as chief investment officer of The Hartford and president of Hartford Investment Management Company, effective Aug. 1, the company said in a statement Tuesday.

Ms. Stepnowski is currently managing director and head of public credit research at HIMCO and based in Hartford, Connecticut, the statement said.

Mr. Johnson will resign as executive vice president and chief investment officer and president of HIMCO, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

No reason was given in the filing for the move.

Mr. Johnson will continue as an employee in an advisory capacity through his retirement on Dec. 31, 2020, the filing stated.

He joined the firm in 2011 as a managing director and chief financial officer and head of strategy and development, according to information on the company’s website.

“Amy has an impressive investment background with deep knowledge of a wide variety of sectors, and is a respected leader and mentor among HIMCO employees,” Christopher Swift, The Hartford’s chairman and CEO, said in the statement.
