Cyber attacks on maritime industry quadruple

A study by the British Ports Association and U.K.-based cyber insurer Astaara Co. Ltd. found that cyber attacks on the global maritime industry have quadrupled since February, The Maritime Executive reports. Attacks from criminal groups are more common than suspected state-sponsored hacking, the study found. Currently, cyber criminals net around $2 trillion per year worldwide.
