ILS capacity tightening to influence mid-year renewals: AM Best

U.S.-based A.M. Best Co. Inc. expects tightening of third-party reinsurance capital from insurance-linked securities funds and structures to influence pricing at the mid-year reinsurance renewals, Artemis reports. With the reinsurance market adapting to operating under coronavirus pandemic conditions, ILS capacity could become a little less abundant at the renewals, and thereby drive firming of reinsurance rates.
