Outbreak prompts Munich Re to withdraw profit guidance

Munich Reinsurance Co. has withdrawn its profit guidance of €2.8 billion ($3.1 billion) for this year, due to claims triggered by the coronavirus outbreak, Reuters reported. Munich Re said that its property/casualty reinsurance segment saw considerable claims in the first quarter from losses related to the cancellation and postponement of large events in the wake of the outbreak.
