More than 100 explosions occurred during a fire at a chemical plant in the Indian state of Maharashtra on Feb. 18, which burned down the entire factory, Powder Bulk Solids reports citing media sources. Authorities ordered evacuations for homes, schools and businesses within 500 meters of the plant, which belongs to Metropolitan Eximchem Pvt. Ltd. and produces chemicals for pharmaceutical and plastic production.
