The Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation has named Dr. Bradley Lewis chief medical officer of the bureau, the agency announced in a statement Tuesday.
Dr. Lewis replaces Dr. Terrence Welsh, who has held the position since August 2017.
In his capacity with the Columbus, Ohio-based agency, Dr. Lewis will oversee all medical components of BWC and direct medical policy. Prior to this role, Dr. Lewis worked as a family practice physician in Groveport, Ohio, and previously served as the coroner for Franklin County.
The Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation approved a proposal from Gov. Mike DeWine’s office to send $1.5 billion of the agency’s revenues to Ohio employers covered by the state’s workers compensation system, the bureau said in a news release on Friday.
