London-based wholesale broker Tysers, part of Integro Insurance Brokers Ltd., on Tuesday said company veteran Richard Tomkins, previously managing director of reinsurance, has been named managing director of its newly launched Bermuda operation.
Mr. Tomkins has relocated from London to head up Tysers (Bermuda) Ltd. and has been replaced as managing director of reinsurance in London by Nick Harrap, a former director within the firm’s reinsurance business, the brokerage said in a statement.
The Bermuda office will provide access to fresh insurance markets and additional capacity for clients globally and complement the firm’s specialty focus in both insurance and reinsurance, according to the statement.
Mr. Tomkins, along with Mr. Harrap, joined Integro Insurance Brokers Ltd. in 2006 to grow the firm’s reinsurance business.
Tysers was merged into Integro Insurance Brokers Ltd.’s wholesale division following its acquisition by the Integro Group in June 2018.
U.S.-based insurance broker Integro Group Holdings L.P. has acquired U.K.-based insurance and reinsurance broker Tyser and Co. Ltd.'s parent firm, Institutional Asset Manager reported. Integro plans to merge its wholesale and retail operations with Tyser's following the acquisition. David Abraham, and Jason Collins, Integro's co-heads of wholesale, will lead the combined wholesale business. Bob Pybus, Integro's head of U.K. retail, will lead the combined corporate and private clients segment.
