Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. on Wednesday said it has partnered with London-based email and data security company Mimecast Services Ltd. to offer policyholders training to improve their awareness of cyber threats.
Training is available at no charge to businesses that purchase Hartford’s first-party cyber insurance policy and at a 20% discount to any other policyholder, the Hartford, Connecticut-based insurer said in a statement.
Mimecast awareness training includes video content as well as real-world phishing simulations and remediation for employees, incorporating humor to help employers educate their staff about ransomware, phishing and wire fraud, the statement said.
“While having technology-based cybersecurity solutions in place is critical, organizations must also educate their last line of defense – their employees,” Michael Madon, senior vice president of security awareness products at Mimecast, said in the statement.
Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. reported higher catastrophe losses in the fourth quarter of 2018, but the insurer returned to profit after posting a big quarterly loss a year earlier related to special charges.
