Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. on Monday said it has acquired McLean Insurance Agency Inc.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Potomac Falls, Virginia-based McLean has more than 10 employees and places over $13 million in premium, according to its website.
The agency offers retail property/casualty, life and employee benefit brokerage and consulting services throughout the eastern United States, Gallagher said in a statement.
Douglas B. Megill and his associates will continue to operate from their current location under the direction of Dan Tropp, head of Gallagher’s Mid-Atlantic retail property/casualty brokerage operations, and John Tournet, head of Gallagher’s Southeast employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations, according to the statement.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is the world’s fourth-largest insurance brokerage, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
