Hub adds executive for motorsports business

Hub International Ltd. has acquired a motorsports book of business and added sports and entertainment executive Darren Hickey as insurance adviser for the Carolinas region, Hub said in a statement Wednesday.
Mr. Hickey will be based in Indianapolis and join Hub Southeast in the firm’s sports and entertainment specialty practice, the statement said.
He was previously vice president, property/casualty with Gregory & Appel Inc. in Indianapolis, having joined the firm in 1998, according to the Motorsports Safety Foundation.
Mr. Hickey will report to Tim Smith, Hub’s Charlotte market leader and chief sales officer for the Carolinas.
