China is considering further opening up its market to foreign insurers this year to boost the sector's competitiveness, Asia Insurance Review reported citing Xinhua. Xiao Yuanqi, spokesman for China's financial regulator, said that the government wants foreign insurers to set up branches and bring in specialists and new technologies in the country.
