Maria Vullo, superintendent of the New York Department of Financial Services, which has promulgated groundbreaking cybersecurity regulation, will depart from her position on Feb. 1.
Ms. Vullo notified New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo that she will not continue in her role during his third term, but will stay on to oversee the department’s initiatives through the proposed executive budget, she said in a statement on Wednesday.
Ms. Vullo said she was proud of the department’s numerous accomplishments during her tenure, particularly the department’s cybersecurity regulation, finalized in March 2017, which is “now the national standard for the protection of our nation’s financial markets.”
She said she will pursue other opportunities that she did not name in her statement.
