Axis Insurance, a unit of Axis Capital Holdings Ltd., said Wednesday it has launched a consolidated global cyber and technology unit.
Pembroke, Bermuda-based Axis said that with this change, the unit, which is part of Axis Insurance’s professional lines division, is merging its U.S. cyber, technology, media and miscellaneous professional liability businesses into a unified global cyber and technology unit.
An Axis spokesman said in a separate statement this is “part of a broader commitment the insurer has made to expand its leadership in the global cyber and technology insurance market.”
The unit is led by Dan Trueman, London-based global head of cyber and technology. Axis also said it is promoting Drew Walter to the newly created role of head of cyber and technology underwriting delivery; he will report to Mr. Trueman. Mr. Walter, who is based in New York, was previously senior vice president of Axis Pro.
James Hamilton has been appointed to the newly created position of global head of accident and health insurance at Axis Insurance, the insurance business segment of Axis Capital Holdings Ltd., Axis announced Wednesday.
