Navigators promotes two executives

The Navigators Group Inc. on Friday announced two promotions to its specialty primary casualty division.
Joe Savarese, who is based in Iselin, New Jersey, has been promoted to president, U.S. specialty primary casualty. Mr. Savarese joined Navigators in 2013 and has led the primary casualty business for the Northeast and Midwest.
San Francisco-based William Vaughn has been promoted to the division’s chief underwriting officer. Mr. Vaughn joined Navigators in 1992 as one of the founders of the company’s specialty division, and most recently led the primary casualty business for the West Coast.
Both will report to Tim Ryan, president of U.S. specialty casualty.
A Navigators spokeswoman declined to provide further details on the previous executives holding the positions.
