Businesses face hurdles in buying insurance for named risks

Businesses such as warehouse operators and logistics firms in Brazil are increasingly finding it difficult to buy insurance for specific or "named" risks, Segs.com reported. Antoine Maleh, director of Brazil-based insurance broker Tailor Insurance, said that companies define specific points such as fire, explosion, windstorm and theft among others risks for receiving payouts under named risk insurance. Data from the country's insurance regulator showed that named risk insurance premiums totaled nearly 3 billion Brazilian real ($800 million) in 2017.
