Aon launches intellectual property group

Aon P.L.C. has acquired 601West, a division of Seattle-based intellectual property law firm Lee & Hayes P.L.L.C., and named the company’s co-founder, Lewis Lee, to CEO of Aon’s newly formed Intellectual Property Solutions group.
The unit will offer increased industry knowledge for intellectual property protection, Aon said Tuesday in a statement.
Terms of the transaction, which closed May 9, were not disclosed.
Mr. Lee, who is based in Spokane, Washington, will report to Brian Cochrane, global CEO, M&A and transaction solutions, Aon said.
Aon’s Intellectual Property Solutions group is part of the Aon network, located in London, New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong, a spokeswoman said.
