Nearly half of manufacturers hit by supply-chain related cyber attack

The U.K.'s National Cyber Security Centre said that nearly half of local manufacturing companies suffered a supply chain-related cyber attack in 2017, Information Age reported. A report from U.S.-based Verizon Communications Inc. found that phishing caused 93% of data breaches mostly due to employee carelessness. The average cost of a data breach totaled $3.6 million however organizations that deliver tangible products and services were at risk of higher losses.
