Australia fines Ford $7.5 million

The Federal Court of Australia has fined Ford Motor Company of Australia Ltd. $10 million Australia ($7.5 million) for mishandling responses to consumer complaints about powershift transmission cars, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. Rod Sims, chairman of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, said that Ford refused to provide a refund or no-cost replacement vehicle and told consumers that the issues were not its fault.
