Hiscox launching cyber risk academy

Specialty insurer Hiscox Ltd. has launched its CyberClear Academy, aimed at helping its cyber insurance customers mitigate and manage their cyber risks, the insurer said in a statement Wednesday.
The academy is an online, interactive suite of nine learning modules featuring diagnostic assessments in a combination of videos, interactive material and refresher modules, the statement said.
The course is accredited by the Government Communications Headquarters, the UK’s intelligence agency responsible for cyber security, the statement said.
“Awareness of the cyber threat is one of the most important parts of cyber risk management,” Gareth Wharton, Hiscox cyber CEO, said in the statement. “This is where cyber security training can really help. Educating your employees and building your human firewall should not be overlooked. A significant proportion of the cyber insurance claims we see are people-related.”
