Insurers to pay $121 million for lost satellite

Insurers are expected to pay $121 million for the loss of a telecom satellite that was launched by Russia for Angola in December 2017, Tass reported citing media sources. Russia and Angola have reached an agreement to design and build an Angosat-2 satellite to replace Angosat-1. The insurance indemnity for the lost satellite, which cost $360 million to build, is expected to be included in the payment for Angosat-2.
