Lassa fever outbreak slows in Nigeria, reduces risk to pandemic cat bond

Data from the World Health Organization showed that the spread of the Lassa fever outbreak in Nigeria has slowed, reducing the risk to The World Bank Group's catastrophe bonds, Artemis.bm reports. The most recent data showed that there are more than 400 confirmed cases of Lassa fever, including 114 deaths. The pandemic cat bonds begin to pay out 15% of the principal from the tranche once there are 250 WHO confirmed deaths from the outbreak.
