Underwriting manager Victor O. Schinnerer & Co. is introducing a dedicated professional liability policy for materials transparency consultants, the firm said Monday.
Materials transparency consultants work with architects and engineers to select building products that contain few, if any, of the substances found on public health or environmental impact lists such as formaldehyde, lead, mercury and hexavalent chromium, the Chevy Chase, Maryland-based firm said. The profession is an outgrowth of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system.
The policy is being issued on an admitted basis through a unit of Chicago-based CNA Financial Corp. Information on limits was not immediately available.
W.R. Berkley Corp. said Wednesday it is combining two of its professional liability units into a single operating unit.
