Frost damages 7,500 hectares of fruit crops, causes $43 million in losses

The Valencian Association of Farmers in Spain said that frost damaged an estimated 7,500 hectares of fruit crops causing more than €35 million ($43 million) in losses, Freshfruitportal.com reported. The frost damaged stonefruit, persimmons, almonds and citrus fruit crops. The association said that the frost damaged the entire harvest in some areas of Valencia, while the average amount of damage is expected to fluctuate between 40% and 70%.
