BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

N.Y. prohibits two doctors from treating injured workers

The New York State Workers Compensation Board said Friday it has suspended two physicians from treating injured workers.

The board chair suspended Dr. William Vincent Jacobson III’s authorization to treat injured workers within the New York State workers comp system. Last year, Dr. Jacobson was convicted of aggravated driving while intoxicated, the board said in a statement.

In addition, Dr. Alan Ng was suspended for inappropriately prescribing medications, including controlled substances, to patients, the board said in a statement.

Both suspensions took effect March 15, 2018.
