BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Missouri bill would exempt nonprofit boards from comp cover

A Missouri House of Representatives committee on Tuesday approved a bill that would exclude members of nonprofit boards from receiving workers compensation coverage.

H.B. 2438, sponsored by Rep. Tim Remole, R-Excello, passed in a 12-0 vote. Under current law, volunteers for nonprofit organizations are already exempt from workers comp coverage.

The bill now goes to the full House for a vote.
