Aon P.L.C. has recruited a group of law firm management professionals to offer management consulting services to medium and large law firms, in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, Aon said in a statement on Thursday.
The Law Firm Advisory Team is part of Aon’s professional services group and will consult on a range of issues including mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, financial management, partner compensation consulting and succession planning, the statement said.
Aon has a significant book of legal professional liability insurance business.
The team will be led by Michael Blanchard, who most recently was principal of Rochester, New York-based Law Practice Advisory Group, L.L.C., and George J. Wolf Jr., who most recently served as managing director at New York-based Herrick Feinstein L.L.P.
Also joining the team is Jennifer Finnegan, former general counsel of Herrick Feinstein, and Stuart Poole, former CEO and founder of Atlanta-based Fulcrum Legal Solutions.
The team will report to Ian Hutchinson and Bruce Wilson, co-leaders of the professional services group law firm practice, with Gerard Guterl, chief executive officer of Aon’s professional services group playing an active role as well, the statement said.
