Windstorm Doris insured loss estimate lowered

Perils A.G. slightly lowered its estimate of the insured property market loss from extratropical cyclone Thomas, known as Doris in the United Kingdom and Ireland, to €248 million ($307.7 million).

The fourth and final estimate for the storm, which affected the British Isles, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany in February 2017, is slightly below the €249 million estimate released in August 2017, the Zurich-based catastrophe loss data company said Friday in a statement.

Most of the losses from Thomas occurred in the United Kingdom, according to Perils.
