Cyclone Gita hits Tonga

Cyclone Gita struck the island of Tonga on Feb. 13, causing floods, flattening the country's parliament building, damaging homes and downing power lines, Reuters reported. The storm also disrupted water supplies and radio networks across the island. Graham Kenna, an Australian government adviser at Tonga's National Emergency Management Office, said that the storm damaged around 40% of houses in Nuku‘alofa, Tonga's capital.
