Iran looks to set up natural disaster insurance fund

The Central Insurance of Iran is awaiting approval from the government to set up a natural disaster insurance fund, Middle East Insurance Review reported citing media sources. Abdolnasser Hemmati, president of the regulatory agency, said that earthquake insurance coverage is very low in Iran, with 11% of all residential homes having fire insurance and 7% earthquake cover.
