2017 was a year of new appointments and restructuring for the industry’s largest brokerage.
In September, Marsh L.L.C. announced a new global management structure that included a newly formed global risk and digital division and a new global placement and specialties division. The article about the changes was the sixth most read Risk Management story on Business Insurance’s website in 2017.
John Drzik, previously president of global risk and specialties, was named president of the global risk and digital division; and Dean Kilsura, formerly Marsh’s global industries specialties and placement leader, was appointed president of global placement and specialties.
In addition, Flavio Piccolomini, formerly CEO of Marsh Continental Europe, was appointed president of Marsh International.
The appointments followed the July announcement that John Doyle would replace Peter Zaffino as Marsh’s CEO. Mr. Zaffino left to become American International Group Inc.’s CEO.
