BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

One month to go: US Insurance Awards deadline nears

Business Insurance launched a new awards and risk management education fundraising program in November, and the deadline for submissions is now a month away.

The U.S. Insurance Awards highlight exceptional work by insurance professionals working at companies across the commercial insurance industry, from retail brokers to third-party administrators, insurers, reinsurers and others.

The fundraising program associated with the awards was created to address the industry’s talent crisis by funding the Business Insurance Spencer Scholarship Endowment. This endowment will open new opportunities for Spencer to provide scholarships, grants, and programming at universities without risk management degree programs.

The U.S. Insurance Awards honor teams of professionals working on specific projects. Anyone familiar with a team’s work can nominate them for an award. Submissions are due Jan. 12. All nominations will be reviewed by a panel of Business Insurance editors who will select finalists in each category. The finalists will be reviewed by a panel of professional risk managers and the winners will be announced at a gala dinner in New York on March 8.
