Storm Ophelia claims lower than expected

Insurance association Insurance Ireland said that the cost of insurance claims related to storm Ophelia is expected to total around €50 million ($58.7 million), The Irish Times reported. Experts had earlier predicted that the claims would total up to €800 million. "There is a high volume of claims but they are of relatively low value," said a spokesman for Insurance Ireland. "This is due to most claims arising from wind damage and the absence of widespread flooding."
