BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

A man in St Augustine, Florida, said it wasn’t until he sent the CEO of his homeowner’s insurance company footage of a television news segment on the insurer’s slow approach to footing the bill to have his home rebuilt after Hurricane Irma that the check came in.

First Coast News in Florida aired the sad tale a few weeks ago about Farm Bureau Insurance allegedly refusing to pay the $200,000 to have Rob Depiazza’s 30-year home rebuilt.

An update aired Thursday: The insurer decided to pay.

“I sent it as a plea to say please stop delaying this process and do the right thing,” Mr. Depiazza told reporters of his idea to send the news clip to the company’s leader.

A Farm Bureau Insurance adjustor was at his home the next day, he said, and a day later, Mr. Depiazza says he got an email from the insurance company telling him they would pay the maximum amount on his policy.

"I really appreciate what you guys have done, because I really believe it made a big difference," he told the television station.
