Fidelis Insurance Holdings Ltd. has launched Radius, it’s first managing general agent, which will focus on niche specialty treaty excess-of-loss business such as cyber, nuclear and personal accident retrocession.
Radius, which began writing business Wednesday, will be run by Rob Ashton, Pembroke, Bermuda-based Fidelis said in a statement. Based in Hamilton, Bermuda, he joins Fidelis from Hiscox Re, where he was head of specialty.
Radius is the first MGA to be launched through Fidelis subsidiary Pine Walk Capital Ltd., which will be run by Rinku Patel, who was most recently at Hyperion Insurance Group.
Bermuda-based Fidelis Insurance Holdings Ltd. has promoted Hinal Patel to group chief financial officer, effective June, The Royal Gazette reports. Mr. Patel will replace Neil McConachie, who resigned earlier this year. Mr. McConachie will remain with Fidelis in a consulting capacity until December. Mr. Patel currently works as group chief actuary with the insurer.
