Magnitude-5.4 quake hits New Zealand

New Zealand's seismic monitoring agency GeoNet said that a 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Kaikoura in the country's South Island on Oct. 22, Daily Mail reported citing media sources. Danny Smith, earthquake recovery manager at Kaikoura District Council, said that the quake caused landslides in the local valley.
