Cyber attacks target more than half of Japanese financial institutions: Survey

A survey by the Bank of Japan found that 51% of local financial institutions such as banks and credit associations have experienced cyber attacks since 2015, Japan Today reported. Nearly 11% of respondents said that the attack disrupted their operations. Several banks said that their websites had become inaccessible for a period of time due to the attacks. More than 85% of banks said that the risk of cyber attacks is increasing.
