BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Houston International Insurance Group Ltd. said Wednesday that Susan K. Swails has been named chief underwriting officer effective immediately.

The position was previously held by Stephen L. Way, chairman and CEO of HIIG, the company said in a statement.

Ms. Swails, who is currently executive vice president and responsible for all property and casualty underwriting operations, has been with the company for three years, joining from American International Group Inc. and previously working for Mr. Way at HCC Insurance Holdings Inc. She will retain her specific responsibilities in offshore energy.

"Susan is a perfect choice for this extremely important role and not one that I give up easily,” Mr. Way said in a statement. “I have great faith in Susan's ability to represent and help guide the company as we continue to grow."

HIIG is an insurance holding company based in Houston with total assets of more than $1.3 billion and shareholders equity of more than $330 million.
