BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

LeClairRyan bolsters comp practice with law firm merger

LeClairRyan L.L.P. announced Tuesday that it has merged with the law firm Pizzo & Haman L.L.P., an expansion that adds to its practice an additional 23 workers compensation and corporate professionals nationwide.

Joining the Richmond, Virginia-based firm LeClairRyan firm as shareholders are Christopher L. Pizzo and Benjamin “Clark” Haman. The new team also includes nine senior counsel, three counsel and nine legal support professionals, according to a press announcement.

“Pizzo & Haman’s innovative approach to closely working with carriers and TPAs in the delivery of legal services creates a more effective, predictive and valuable service delivery model relative to how most law firms service this practice area,” said Elizabeth K. Acee, leader of LeClairRyan’s litigation department, in a press statement. “I am looking forward to helping them continue to grow their already robust practices and expanding their inventive service delivery model to other areas of the firm.”

Pizzo & Haman served as national coordinating counsel for multiple insurance carriers and third-party administrators while providing operational, regulatory, and corporate compliance consultation for claims administrators, managing general agencies and insurance carriers, according to the press release.

“LeClairRyan is a great fit for us,” said Mr. Pizzo, in the press statement. “Being a part of a full-service, national firm allows us to not only continue to provide efficient and effective service to our clients, but also to grow and enhance our practice across the country.”
