Singapore-based insurer Great Eastern Holdings Ltd. is seeking to sell its stake in its Malaysian operations for as much as $1 billion, Middle East Insurance Review reported. Great Eastern is one of several foreign insurers that are preparing to sell stakes in their Malaysian operations to comply with a central bank requirement for the country's insurers to be at least partially owned by local players.
