Myanmar's insurance industry likely to be liberalized

Myanmar is expected to liberalize its insurance industry this year, with 24 foreign insurers seeking licenses to operate in the country, The Diplomat reported. The country's insurance industry is expected to generate $2 billion in premiums by 2030. Government sources said that the liberalization is likely to be gradual, and involve joint ventures with local insurers.
